Hydrovolt recruits new Chief Commercial and Development Officer

Hydrovolt announces the recruitment of Hans Bjerkaas as its new Chief Commercial and Development Officer effective from November 1st bringing capacity and experience into a key role for sourcing incoming volumes and commercial growth.
With almost 20 years of experience from the Hydro system, Bjerkaas brings significant experience in recycling working with sourcing, operations and business development to Hydrovolt. Bjerkaas comes from the role as VP Sourcing/Sorting Global i Hydro Aluminium Metal Recycling, where he has been running the upstream positioning of Hydro, including sourcing of scrap and sorting operations.

As the Chief Commercial and Development Officer, Bjerkaas will oversee Hydrovolt’s commercial and development strategy, including sourcing, partnerships, sales and other development activities towards car dismantlers and car importers while building a high-performing team to deliver on the company’s business strategy moving forward.

Bjerkaas will focus on the Norwegian and Swedish markets for end-of-life and waste batteries. Bjerkaas holds a Masters in material technology and PhD in materials science.
